
Accompanied the Cabinet Secretary- Roads and Transport, Kenya’s Ambassodor to the Kingdom of Netherlands and representative of Kenya to ICAO to the Safe Sky High level Forum 2023 at the Hague in the Netherlands.
Kenya is an active member of the 13 States Safe Skies consultative committee that is working to promote the exchange and sharing of information and standardization of risk assessment methodologies to ensure safe flight operations in conflict zones and near conflict zones.
The meeting paid homage to the wreckage reconstruction of Malaysia Airlines MH17 and National monument of flight MH17 in memory of the victims.
Kenya will host the 4th Safe Skies Forum in Nairobi in 2025.
The Cabinet Secretary also Held bilateral meeting with Hon. Mark Harbers, the Minister of Infrastructure and water management- The Netherlands,where we discussed cooperation and collaboration in sustainable transport, mobility and Kenya’s candidature to the post of Secretary General - International Maritime Organization (IMO). The Kingdom of the Netherlands pledged to support Kenya to further feasibility studies on the deployment of sustainable aviation fuels in Kenya under the ICAO programme on assistance, capacity building and training on sustainable Aviation Fuels(ICAO ACT SAF)
